A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE QUOGUE JUNIOR THEATRE TROUPE The Troupe began as a creative and aesthetic extension to
the Junior Sports Program at the Quogue Field Club in 1979. In return for the gratis use of the village theater, Sue Prior was asked by Mayor McLean to open up the theater to the
village. The Quogue Junior Theater Troupe happily accepted, and the rest is history. Since 1980, the young people of Quogue and the neighboring villages have danced, sung, and acted
their way through the last thirty summers. Thanks to the great generosity of so many, QJTT is able to offer two fully scaled, professionally directed musicals each summer. QJTT Mission Statement
Founded in 1979, the Quogue Junior Theater Troupe is an amateur, professionally directed young people's
theater group. Created to provide an educational theatrical experience, the Troupe's goal is to foster personal growth and development among the interested and committed youth of the
greater Quogue community. |
